In the past few days, I have been reading some documents related to criminal psychology in order to develop my assignment. One of the sentences used by a criminal psychologist Berry-Dee Christopher to describe female offenders made me have some doubts. Although their crimes are all terrible, he repeatedly described them in a mocking tone. One female offender’s appearance is described as an old, ugly, loud-mouthed two-star prostitute.
I can understand that the author wants to emphasize that she can no longer use her physical advantages to attract men as she did when she was younger, but I feel that these statements cross the line of rational analysis. Eventhrough her job was really a prostitute, is this description of appearance meaningful in analyzing her crime?
In addition, these discribertional santences will be applied to male offenders?
How can I avoid discrimination and stereotypes in VR images?
